About My Clients
I work with individuals navigating family violence, intimate partner violence, grief and bereavement, and major life transitions. My practice is especially centered on supporting people who may feel overwhelmed, unseen, or caught between different identities, expectations, or experiences. I also have experience working with first-generation Americans and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, including those navigating the complexities of being queer, BIPOC, or mixed-status families.
My Background and Approach
I bring two years of graduate-level clinical training and specialized experience in trauma and bereavement work into the therapeutic space. My goal is to provide clients with compassionate guidance and a supportive environment where they can safely explore their experiences. I approach therapy from the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives, stories, and lived experiences. Rather than positioning myself as someone with all the answers, I see therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to better understand challenges, identify strengths, and build meaningful change. I often describe my role as a co-pilot: I can offer direction, tools, insight, and support, but you remain the decision-maker in the therapeutic alliance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about social justice and challenging systemic inequality. During my undergraduate studies, I became deeply interested in the intersection of racial and environmental justice, which ultimately inspired me to pursue social work. My commitment to this path grew even stronger after the death of a beloved friend and through my own experiences struggling to access affirming mental health support. Navigating barriers to care and encountering a lack of cultural understanding showed me how urgently compassionate, inclusive mental health services are needed. These experiences motivated me to become a therapist and advocate for individuals and communities who are too often underserved. I strive to create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered, while contributing to broader efforts toward equity, healing, and systemic change.
