About My Clients
Do you find yourself feeling unmotivated and directionless, unclear on your purpose? Do you ever feel that the traumas of your childhood keep you from living your fullest life? Are you especially hard on yourself, and find it difficult to "self-care?" Or do you have a child or teenager who is acting out, depressed, or difficult to understand? Through my personal and professional experience with these realms, I'll be here to help you and your family come to a place of greater peace.
My Background and Approach
The initial seeds on my path to becoming a therapist formed when I was very young. As an adoptee, a child of bitter divorce, and a survivor of abuse, I became aware of the ways in which complex early relational traumas affected me. I spent years dedicated to pursuing a career in music before realizing that I wanted to help people heal & become their best selves. After acquiring a BA in Philosophy & Religion, I went to the California Institute of Integral Studies to pursue an MA in Counseling Psychology. Having trained with Liberation Institute, SF Marriage & Couples Center, Multi Lingual Counseling, and Child Therapy Institute, I developed a broad therapeutic skill set working with children, couples, and individuals. I now focus my work with young adults, adolescents, children, and men's issues. I utilize a warm, humanistic approach to hold space for clients to enjoy the path of self-discovery, and my skills in archetypal astrology & tarot can bring a unique perspective to the work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy is not just a last resort for when you feel that your life is broken beyond repair. My aim is to help you empower yourself and develop a deeper sense of self-compassion to find greater clarity, zest for life, and fulfillment. Beyond that, I’m here to make the journey of self-discovery something that you can be excited about! As a man, I have personally experienced some of the challenges to becoming healthy and whole in a world ruled by social structures that have a binding and constricting effect on healthy masculinity. I believe that healthy masculinity can look different for many men, and an important aspect of finding what is right for you begins with a deepened connection to your heart and purpose. In my work with children and adolescents, I believe in simply holding space for kids to experience an adult unlike any other, who can gently inspire them on a path to success. I help kids develop skills of self-regulation, compassion, curiosity, and play!
