About My Clients
I feel I am best able to serve people who are questioning who they are and their place in the world, whether they be young adults at the start of discovering who they are, or middle aged in crisis questioning whether where they are fits them, to elders who question what the next step may be.
My Background and Approach
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2015. I was a Medical Social Worker since 2007. Because of these experiences with individuals and families in crisis who are attempting to navigate larger systems, I am used to meeting them where they are, listening to each individuals needs and wishes, and working with them and empowering them ti find practical solutions to their concerns to help make their lives a little better.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I started out my social work journey as a hospice volunteer, trying to work out my own grief for a suicide friend. I have a special sensitivity to those experiencing suicidality, mood disorders, neurodiversity, alternate sexualities, and freethinkers. I am a lapsed catholic from a Mediterranean ethnic background, who has found philosophical resonance with Buddhist practice and Stoic philosophy. I have married and become a father late, so have an appreciation for the shortness and poignancy of life and relationships, and the importance of at least attempting unconditional love.
