About My Clients
I primarily work with individuals, helping them to modify maladaptive patterns that contribute to feelings of distress. These may include negative thought patterns that influence mood and behavior, difficulty controlling excessive worrying, experiencing unhealthy emotions and behaviors associated with trauma, and difficulties adjusting to different life stressors.
My Background and Approach
I view therapy as the process of developing a deeper level of awareness that leads to better understanding of oneself and others. Crises and life challenges offer opportunities for personal growth and motivation to strive for healthy changes. By exploring current patterns and those from your family history and past experiences, you'll gain awareness of their influence on the different areas of your life and your behaviors. I engage in conversation, ask questions, and will often encourage self-reflection through activities and exercises that promote self-awareness and empowerment. I am originally from South Florida and obtained a degree in psychology following active duty service in the United States Navy. I completed my graduate studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. I work comfortably in both English and Spanish, with individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
