About My Clients
I specialize in working with those with marginalized identities, such as those who identify as queer, trans, disabled, or people of color. I can assist with a wide variety of concerns and I specialize in OCD, disordered eating, body image concerns, and complex trauma, especially trauma that started in childhood. If you are someone looking for support in a space that is non-judgmental, warm, and full of humor, I would be honored to assist you on your journey.
My Background and Approach
I always want to value your autonomy in our space. I use a primarily person-centered approach that allows you to guide what we cover in session, so you never have to talk about things you do not wish to discuss. I practice primarily from an existential and narrative therapy lens, meaning that you are the expert in your story and we work together to find your true meaning and purpose, while reframing negative self-beliefs that no longer serve you. I have volunteered on a crisis line for people with marginalized identities and I received my Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Arizona. During my degree, I worked with adults and teens in individual and group counseling in a community mental health setting. I am also a person who is queer, nonbinary, disabled, and has OCD, so I deeply understand many struggles my clients may be facing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all of my clients deserve safety and autonomy at all times. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities and I believe strongly in the disability justice and Black Lives Matter movements. I will always stand up for my clients rights to exist and have access to necessities, such a food, water, and shelter. I also think that mental health care is political and should be accessible and safe for everyone.
