About My Clients
Maybe your child worries about everything and can't tell you why. Maybe your teen says they're fine and then closes the door. Maybe your kid melts down over things that look small from the outside, and you're tired of being told to try harder. Or maybe you're a young adult who's been in therapy before and never quite got there. I work with kids, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, big emotions, self-esteem, social struggles, neurodivergence, and hard experiences they're still carrying.
My Background and Approach
Before I was a therapist, I was a dancer and a dance teacher. That's not a footnote — it's how I understand people. Long before I had words for what I was feeling, I knew it in my body, and that's the door I help my clients find. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, so therapy with me doesn't have to be talking alone. We might move, create, practice a skill, or just notice where a feeling shows up. No dance experience needed — this isn't a dance class. It's another way in when words aren't working yet. I also draw on mindfulness and DBT skills for managing big emotions, and my work is trauma-informed, which in practice means you set the pace. Nothing happens before you're ready. Most of my career has been in behavioral health, working with kids and teens whose needs were complex and whose families were exhausted. I've seen what happens when someone finally feels understood. That's what I'm here for.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe neurodivergence isn't something to fix. Too many kids grow up being told to sit still, tone it down, or be easier for everyone else — and then arrive in therapy expecting more of the same. That's not what happens in my office. We build around who you already are. I also believe therapy should be accessible to people who don't thrive in a talk-only model. I serve as Treasurer for the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association, working to make movement-based care easier to find and understand. And I believe the body deserves a seat at the table. Not just the mind.
