About My Clients
I am a DBT practice primarily and also do a lot of trauma work. We see clients of any age. Each clinician has their own specialty and we work hard to find the right fit when you get here. I treat a lot of clients that have been unsuccessful in other treatments or feel like they have been given every diagnosis in the treatment manual and are unsure what is real.
My Background and Approach
I am a nationally certified DBT therapist. I also am newly certified in RO-DBT as the first clinician in Maryland. I have credentials in trauma, domestic violence, and tricotilliomania. I have worked in a huge variety of settings. I joke a lot that if research was saying dying clients purple would help I would work at learning that. I enjoy using a variety of techniques and look forward to collaborating with you to find what works for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am actively working with a variety of organizations to work on suicide prevention and getting mental health treatment to as many people as want and need it. I grew up in the LGBTQIA community with my family members and watched them struggle to be accepted and find affirming treatment.
