About My Clients
I work with people who are: feeling “stuck” and uncertain of what’s next, high-achieving and grappling with a harsh inner critic, finding that how they’ve been coping isn’t working anymore, feeling out of sync with their values or how they want to live their lives, wanting to know themselves better in their next stage of life, feeling overwhelmed by their emotions, feeling unheard or seeking deeper connection in their relationships. I often work with graduate students & LGBTQIA+ clients.
My Background and Approach
I am not here to give you answers, but to journey with you toward a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, challenges, goals, & strengths. I will bring warmth, empathy, nonjudgment, curiosity, and sometimes humor to our shared space, and treat you as the expert of your own experience. However you show up, I am here as a collaborator in this work. Together, we can imagine (& practice) what fulfillment looks like in your life through harmony with different parts of yourself, others, and your communities. I take an eclectic relational and person-centered approach, and we will explore together what works for you. My work primarily draws from psychodynamic therapy and ACT and may include elements of narrative and relational-cultural therapies, somatic-focused exercises, and your own emotional, intellectual, or spiritual practices. Prior to obtaining my MSW from UNC-CH, I worked in nonprofits focused on arts education, housing, racial equity, and supporting sex workers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a white, queer, Jewish, gender-expansive person, I am deeply committed to approaching this work with an anti-oppressive lens and take pleasure in exploring practices that are culturally resonant, identity-affirming, and personally meaningful to you. I work to foster a therapeutic relationship that creates space for you to safely show up fully and authentically.
