About My Clients
Maybe you’ve always been the person who gets things done, holds everything together, and pushes through, even when you’re overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of what you actually need. Or perhaps you’re navigating a major transition, struggling with anxiety or intrusive thoughts, trying to better understand your neurodivergence, or finding that old ways of coping no longer seem to work. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and develop a way forward.
My Background and Approach
My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based therapies including CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I primarily use a “top-down” approach, helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and values so they can make meaningful changes in the areas that matter most. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical skills for managing difficult emotions and anxiety, and clarify the values and goals you want your life to reflect. I believe therapy should be tailored to you, not a one-size-fits-all process, and I want you to leave sessions with greater understanding, useful tools, and a stronger sense of confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I earned my Master of Social Work from Walden University and my Bachelor of Social Work from Ferrum College. Prior to outpatient therapy, I gained experience in community-based mental health and served as an intern with CASA of Roanoke, Virginia, advocating for children and families. If you’re ready to better understand yourself, break unhelpful patterns, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are and what matters to you, I’d be honored to work with you.
