About My Clients
The people I work with usually know what the “right things” and the “healthy things” are. They don’t understand why they don’t really enjoy their life. They are incredibly logical and feel like they should be happy, should be calm, and should be able to “figure it out”. Instead, they feel overwhelmed, uncomfortable, frustrated, powerless, disappointed, misunderstood, or exhausted. They want to be more efficient, less stressed, and able to feel good about their life.
My Background and Approach
I help millennials reduce their worry, anxiety, or panic attacks while increasing overall satisfaction. The process looks different with each of my clients and may include unpacking life’s heavy stuff, making peace with the past, deciphering what’s important to you, figuring out who you are or who you want to be, and/or facing fears head-on. You will be both challenged and supported. You may be “fine”. Many people started out therapy “fine”, and I have the pleasure to see them become more comfortable, more confident, and more present. It is my privilege to provide clients with knowledge, tools, new perspectives, humor, and a completely non-judgmental space. My approach is solution-focused and evidence-based. The goals are unique to you, and usually includes bringing a client much-needed relief while also resolving the core conflicts or trauma at the source of the issues. I utilize mindfulness-based, cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and psychodynamic interventions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Mental health, health, income, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, and sexuality are all inexplicitly linked. I believe in equity and social justice. I am supportive of LGBTQIA rights, Black Lives Matter movement, economic justice, and feminist movement.
