About My Clients

I value using honesty, humor, and empathy to promote healing. Whether it is with the intention of being a better friend, parent, partner, professional, or person, doing your own work is one of the bravest and most rewarding things you can do. My goal is to make doing the work as safe, goal-driven, and empowering as possible. As you have already taken the courageous step toward healing, I want to invite you into experiencing the grace that comes with awareness of ourselves and others.

My Background and Approach

My approach integrates attachment-based interventions with the models of Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. My special interests include LGBTQ+ issues/identities, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, grief, and shame. I am affirming to all sexual/gender identities as well as all faiths & spiritualities and enjoy working with this intersection (ex-vangelicals, queer spirituality, religious trauma, etc.). Do you feel like you keep doing what you don't want to do or can't do what you do want to do? I hear folks all the time on my therapy couch asking these questions: "Why can't I get a hold on these anxious feelings?" "Why am I still repeating these same patterns?" "Why is [insert experience here] so [insert emotion here] for me?" I invite you to take a deep breath and enter into this space of healing and openness with hope. You are not alone, you are not "crazy," and you have immense value simply because you are human.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I graduated from the University of Tennessee where I assisted with research in emotion regulation and posttraumatic growth and received a Bachelors in Psychology and Child & Family Studies. While earning a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy at Lipscomb University, I assisted with research in racial microaggressions while also interning as a therapist in multiple settings with adolescents and adults. I am a Nashville native, a member of the queer community, and a human who holds deep empathy for everyone's story. When I am not in my therapy chair, I enjoy hiking with my wife and dog, making playlists that are way too long, and getting lost in any book or TV show that makes me laugh.
