About My Clients
Have you experienced an event or series of events that has left you feeling confused and disconnected? Are you a person of color who is looking for therapist who understands racial trauma along with all the other traumas that you have experienced? Maybe you are looking for someone to sees you, hears you, and understands you. As a POC therapist with a focus on trauma (little t traumas and big T traumas), my goal is to help you make the connections of how your past impacts you today.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical social worker with several years of experience and diverse practice in the field of mental health. I provide psychotherapy to individuals with a trauma focus lens and with culturally/racially sensitive insight. I hold a master’s degree in Social Work from New York University, along with numerous specialized training in the field of trauma, child abuse, and forensic interviews. I have specialized expertise with providing support and counseling to survivors of crime ranging from homicide, child abuse, intimate partner violence, and sexual violence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an Asian American woman of color, I know the difficulties of finding a therapist who understand the complex ways in which one’s intersecting identities impact their sense of self and navigation through the world. I strive to provide culturally and racially sensitive therapeutic interventions, while approaching clients with sincere respect and curiosity. Most importantly, I aim to collaboratively create a safe therapeutic relationship honoring all parts of a client’s identity. I am committed to deepening my own anti-racism and anti oppressive practices to continue serving the needs of diverse clients.
