I help people reclaim well-being by addressing eating disorders, trauma, and anxiety with compassion and evidence-based care.

Clinical Psychologist in Chevy Chase, MD

About My Clients

I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating eating disorders, trauma, and anxiety. Many of my clients are high-achieving, thoughtful, and caring toward others, yet feel disconnected from their own needs or caught in cycles of perfectionism and self-criticism. I provide a supportive and evidence-based space to explore these patterns, build self-trust, and develop healthier ways of relating to food, emotions, and relationships.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience specializing in eating disorders, trauma, and anxiety. I currently serve as Director of Research and Clinical Outcomes for a leading national treatment program, where I oversee the largest outcomes database in the field. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and featured in outlets such as Slate and Teen Vogue, and I have been a guest on national podcasts discussing recovery and mental health. I draw on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), CBT and ACT, while tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs. My background in both research and clinical work allows me to bridge science and compassion, helping clients not only understand the roots of their struggles but also build practical tools for lasting change. Clients often tell me they appreciate feeling both understood and guided, with a balance of empathy and clear direction in our work together

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

At the core of my work is a belief that every person deserves to feel safe in their body and valued for who they are, not what they look like. I approach therapy with deep respect for each client’s lived experience and a commitment to dismantling the shame and stigma that often surround eating disorders and mental health. Social justice and inclusivity are central to my values. I support LGBTQ+ communities, and strive to create a practice that is culturally responsive and welcoming to people of all backgrounds. Outside of my professional work, I advocate for increased access to eating disorder care through research, writing, and public education, with the hope of shifting societal narratives that limit understanding of these illnesses. I am also a parent, which has given me a more personal appreciation for the pressures families face. Above all, I want clients to know that they will be met with compassion, curiosity, and the belief that recovery is possible.
