About My Clients
My clients are most often adolescents, young adults, and older adults. Some come alone, some come with a significant other or family members. All of my clients are dealing with some crisis or change large or small and are seeking to optimize their lived experience. Whether they are looking to gain new insight, coping skills, communication skills, assertiveness, or support through grief and transitions through life, my work with clients is client centered and client driven.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California and combine the knowledge I gained there with the wisdom I acquired from my 20+ years working with children, families, adults, and communities through crisis and change. In my therapeutic work, I call on the experience I earned working across the entire k-8 school system as a teacher and administrator, as a perinatal birth doula supporting parents along one of the biggest changes in their life, and connecting diverse communities as an assistant director of education at a museum. The theoretical framework I rely on is based on attachment theories, family systems theories, and the framework of individuation. Utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness practices, we craft a specific set of goals to help clients live their optimal life sooner.
