My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping you develop practical tools that create lasting emotional change. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, life transitions, emotional suppression, and substance-related concerns. Throughout my career, I have worked in nonprofit agencies, drug and alcohol treatment centers, and private practice settings, helping individuals navigate overwhelming emotions, unhealthy patterns, and difficult life experiences. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as CBT and DBT to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building healthier ways to cope with stress and emotional triggers. My goal is to help you develop coping strategies and emotional regulation skills that you can use in everyday life — whether you are managing anxiety, navigating relationship challenges, improving communication, or rebuilding self-worth. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the importance of feeling safe, affirmed, and accepted without judgment. I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and culturally sensitive environment where clients can openly explore their emotions, identity, relationships, and personal experiences. I believe therapy is not about “fixing” who you are, but helping you reconnect with your strengths, build resilience, and create a more balanced and meaningful life. Many people carry anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, emotional suppression, or self-doubt while feeling pressured to keep everything together on their own. Over time, these survival patterns can create emotional exhaustion, disconnection, and difficulty expressing needs or setting healthy boundaries. Therapy provides a supportive space to better understand those patterns, develop self-awareness, and learn healthier ways to cope and communicate.
