About My Clients
You may feel bombarded with constant worry and spiraling thoughts. Perhaps you have trouble sleeping due endless 'what-if' scenarios and a brain that never stops. Maybe you are unhappy, unfulfilled, and unmotivated, or question your current relationship. I’m guessing these things have impacted how you show up in life, in work, and in relationships—-and you’re exhausted. Am I right? I can help you understand why these things are happening and show you how to fix it.
My Background and Approach
I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic approaches. Simply put, I help you to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and transform negative thinking patterns. In addition, I dig deep to discover how your past is affecting you now and identify unhealthy “blueprints” to life and relationships that you learned at an early age. My clients walk away from therapy with me feeling hopeful, heard, understood, relieved, and armed with the knowledge and skill to move forward with the life they envisioned. My therapy style is conversational and casual. I bring a real-life, no-nonsense approach to therapy with a side of humor (and maybe a bit of sarcasm).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value authenticity, connection, and commitment. I pride myself in being genuine in everything I do. I am “real” with people - in both personally and professionally. My down-to-earth personality always shines through in therapy, which is a big part of who I am and the reason many have enjoyed working with me. Connection is important—-your connection to your therapist WILL determine your success in therapy. It is important to me that we have a great working relationship, and I do everything I can to ensure we do. That of course, includes being genuine, respectful of your decisions, and accepting of the person you are. I am fully committed to helping you achieve the goals you have for therapy. Being committed means that I will often check in with you to see if we are “on track” in meeting your goals.
