About My Clients
My practice revolves around relationship issues, anxiety and depression, work situations, personal growth, career choices and trauma. I see all ages, individuals and couples and accept most insurances.
My Background and Approach
I have a Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling. I have over 9,000 hours of clinical psychiatric staff supervision. I have been married, divorced and remarried. I have two (adult) children and four Bonus (adult) children. I've taught at BSU and run The Young Child Treatment Program at Warm Springs Counseling center. My approach to therapy is to listen to the person and together, figure out a treatment course that will be most beneficial to them. My patients say that I am warm and truthful and genuinely care about them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that most people are basically good, want to be in relationships and try their hardest to be responsible and do and say the right things. But a whole lot can happen between our thoughts and our actions! Genetics: gives us predispositions to mood disorders, mental illness, addictions and personality traits. Trauma, our intimate relationships, our friendships and work relationships, how we were raised, religion, what coping skills we've learned or need to learn... all contribute to the complexity of ourselves. My job is to take whomever you are and help you to have peace with yourself. I love my family, farming, baseball, cooking and reading. I like who I am.
