About My Clients
My ideal client enjoys using technology, has a sense of humor, and is motivated to change. They may be experiencing stress, worry, anxiety, and/or depression. They lead busy lives, and they want a therapist who provides practical, evidence based strategies they can use in their daily lives. They value their time and they want to work with a therapist online or by phone. They enjoy the benefit of an experienced psychologist, while being in a comfortable location, at a convenient time.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is straight forward: focus on the present, achieving small, manageable changes leading to more balanced living. I particularly like to use solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy as well as other therapies that have been researched. I believe that therapy is an art & a science. Many interventions that have been shown to be effective that is the science. Your life circumstances, your strengths, & skills are unique, & what may work for you will be different than what is successful for someone else. Effective therapy is discerning which interventions will be most effective, under a given set of circumstances, for each individual, that is the art. Together, we can create the change you desire.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all are doing the best we can at any given time. I believe that right now we are all under a lot of pressure. We are living in a time when things are changing rapidly & sometimes it may become overwhelming. We can all use support & I endeavor to provide quality care at a reasonable price. I love dogs & have personal experience with the ways they can provide emotional support to people with anxiety & depression. In my free time, I enjoy using genetic genealogy to help individuals learn more about their family connections. Licensed to provide teletherapy in PsyPact locations.
