About My Clients
You may feel stuck in patterns you cannot break, especially during an unwanted life change. You recognize the need for change but are unsure how to achieve it. You may feel frustrated with yourself, your relationships, or your life’s direction, and tired of managing it alone. Many of the clients I work with have already tried to “figure it out”—on their own or in previous therapy—but still feel stuck in the same cycles. They’re often thoughtful, self-aware, and ready for something deeper.
My Background and Approach
Clients describe me as warm, approachable, and nonjudgmental, while also providing gentle challenges when needed. My approach is conversational and collaborative. I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help you identify patterns that may keep you stuck. Together, we will explore barriers and introduce practical tools you can use immediately. I use EMDR, motivational interviewing, and body-based (somatic) practices to help you not only understand your experiences but also process them more fully.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). I have worked with adults, adolescents, and families. My background includes a bachelor’s degree in English Education and a master’s in Professional Counseling. I have worked with children, teens, and adults in schools, communities, hospitals, and private practice. I value integrity, honesty, personal growth, and self-compassion in my work. I welcome anyone seeking personal growth or positive change, and I strive to meet clients without judgment in a safe space for growth. I was born in Chicago, grew up in California, and have called North Carolina home for almost twenty years. I am a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and a good listener. When I am not working, I spend time with my family, friends, and my dog. I enjoy being outdoors, staying active, learning new things, and being creative.
