About My Clients
I work primarily with adults age 18+ seeking support related to social anxiety, ADHD, women's issues, life transitions, communication issues, career development, climate anxiety, trauma, and/or relationship difficulties. I am committed to supporting individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, ENM community, students and teachers in higher education, and neurodivergent clients.
My Background and Approach
My approach incorporates various therapeutic techniques depending on what is most beneficial to the client. I typically emphasize humanistic, narrative, and mindfulness-based approaches. Utilizing a trauma-informed approach, I support clients in gaining a deeper understanding of their life experiences, building a sense of personal empowerment, recognizing their own resiliency and strengths, and identifying ways to create sustainable positive changes in their daily lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Choosing the right therapist, making sure you really 'click' with that person, can mean the difference between following through on your commitment to self-care or changing your mind. Often, clients find that their relationship with the therapist, including feeling comfortable and supported, is the most important aspect of therapy. Are you looking for someone to listen and be supportive - to hold space for you to explore your thoughts? To validate your concerns and experiences? To ask a lot of questions and guide you? To point out specific patterns and behaviors, or to hold you accountable for following through on making changes? The initial consultation is an opportunity for you as the client to ask questions and make sure that you can see yourself feeling comfortable working with your therapist. I encourage clients to utilize the initial consultation and continue engaging in open communication throughout therapy about what they find helpful.
