Parents of kids under 10: Do you feel overwhelmed or weighed down with worry, sadness, or maybe even feeling nothing at all? Do you find yourself snapping, yelling, making threats, and cringing as your own parents’ words come out of your mouth, leaving you wondering if you’re broken and unfixable and failing at the job that matters most to you? Or has your child's medical or psychological diagnosis left you feeling scared and confused and alone?
My Background and Approach
I'm a clinical psychologist, neuropsychologist, and Jai-certified parent coach. In addition to working with struggling parents, I also offer therapy and cognitive support for adults with brain disorders (for example, epilepsy, brain injury, and dementia), and their loved ones. I integrate a variety of methods, which might include taking a deep dive into your personal and inter generational experiences (yes, I might ask you about your mother), learning healthy coping strategies to use when life feels overwhelming, and identifying practical solutions to daily challenges (like remembering to take your medication or getting the kids to bed when you’re exhausted yourself). This is your journey, and I would be honored to walk alongside you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the key to making the world a better place is by breaking harmful generational patterns and raising each generation to be more compassionate, adaptive, resilient, tolerant, psychologically healthy, and emotionally capable than the last. I believe every human has an innate right to discover and live their own truth, as long as it doesn't affect the safety of others. I believe YOU are worthy of support, acceptance, and unconditional love, AND the skills and freedom to set your own boundaries.
