Depression interferes with daily life and causes pain for you and those that care about you. When you are feeling depressed, it can feel like you will never get out from under a dark shadow. But, even the most severe depression is treatable. I can help! I will give you skills and insight to feel better and help prevent depression from worsening or returning. Three common therapeutic methods I use are CBT, interpersonal therapy and psychodynamic.
I can help you address the emotions underlying low self esteem. With time and work, it is possible to develop a healthy relationship with yourself and to live the authentic lifestyle that you want.
Therapy can help uncover the underlying causes of worries and fears, learn how to cope effectively and help find ways to perceive situations in a new, less frightening way. I can help you develop healthy coping and problem solving skills that are essential to every day life. Whether you're suffering from panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, worries or phobias, please know that you dont need to live with anxiety.
CBT is a short term, goal oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands on practical approach to problem solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and therefore change how they feel. It is highly effective for depression, anxiety, marital problems, relationship issues, eating disorders, mental illness and alcohol and drug abuse. Together, we will work to manage your struggles by changing the way you think, behave and feel.
This is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which you perceive yourself consciously. I use it in my practice to create a therapeutic environment that is comfortable, non judgmental and empathetic. I allow my clients to lead the discussion and show complete acceptance and support for my clients without casting judgement.
Also known as insight-oriented therapy, it focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in a person's present behavior. The goal is for a client to gain self awareness and understanding of the influence that their past has on their present behaviors. Together we will explore self reflection and self examination.
