What is the last thing you missed out on because your emotions or relationship with food stopped you from living life to the fullest?

Licensed Professional Counselor in Philadelphia, PA

About My Clients

I help others find more balance in their lives. Do you have a hard time managing intense feelings, hold yourself to a critical standard, struggle with your relationship to food, or find yourself shutting down in times of stress? If you are looking for someone who is interested in your experience of the world and invested in building a relationship to help you along your journey, you have come to the right place.

My Background and Approach

I understand it takes a lot of effort just to consider therapy, so I'm glad you're here. Together, we will create sessions that are tailored to meet your needs. I strive to provide a space where you can speak freely, be your true self, and trust in our work together. I will encourage your joy and humor, note your strengths, and meet you in your vulnerability. My therapeutic approach has been described as warm, authentic, and dynamic. You will receive a balance of compassion and accountability in our sessions together. I value the mind-body connection, fostering distress tolerance, and deepening our understanding of ourselves. While am a Licensed Counselor, I am also a Board Certified Art Therapist. Art therapy can support your growth, insight, and healing in your therapy journey. You do not need to have art experience to participate in (and benefit from) art therapy. You have the option to make art in any of our sessions—it is never required.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we developed our current ways of coping over time, so therapy takes time, but true growth is possible. In my personal life, I attend trainings and do my own professional reading to make sure I am showing up as the healthiest, most qualified version of myself for you. I am body positive, fat positive, sex positive, and LGBTQ+ affirming. I operate from a HAES (health at every size) perspective, and believe that our understanding of the world is influenced by the communities, families, and systems we live in. It is important for you to have a therapeutic space where you can be fully yourself with someone who is in your corner. I practice what I preach, so I would not ask you to practice a coping skill that I haven't engaged with myself! I look forward to helping you navigate the confusing, but ultimately rewarding experience of living.
