About My Clients
The largest part of her practice is one-to-one work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, burnout, life transitions, grief, self-esteem, and the slow work of figuring out who you are when the script stops working. Many of her clients are thoughtful, analytical adults who feel a little frustrated that they can't just think their way out of what they're feeling. They work with that, not against it.
My Background and Approach
Before becoming a therapist eighteen years ago, Gerry worked as a mechanical engineer. She loved the precision of that work, but the most interesting problems she kept running into were human rather than technical. She followed that passion and went back to school to become a licensed therapist. Gerry has deep experience with families and couples, drawing on Gottman and attachment-informed approaches for relationship work. Her individual work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic exploration, and trauma-informed pacing. The common thread is collaboration: she's not interested in keeping anyone in therapy forever; she's interested in helping you understand what's going on, find tools that work in your real life, and develop enough self-knowledge to keep doing the work without her.
