About My Clients
I work with couples and creative types experiencing life transitions; grief, identity questioning, parenthood, breakups, divorce, medical diagnosis, career change, sociopoliticial stress, etc. CHANGE IS HARD Let's face it, we are creatures of habit! The pain and overwhelm of huge shifts in circumstance can catapult us into depression, anxiety, insomnia, and mental aguish. If you are trying to remember the sound of your own voice, I will meet you where you are to help shine light on the path.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in the expressive arts and Jungian theory so things often get weird and symbolic in my office. -LETS DIVE INTO THE MYSTERY. My practice is deeply person centered. That means I let you lead and see myself as a copilot on your journey. -I WON'T LEAVE YOU ALONE IN THE DEPTH OF IT. Parts work, systems theory, and drama therapy make up a good portion of my training background. That is because I fundamentally believe that healing happens holistically and systemically. -ALL PARTS OF YOU ARE WELCOME HERE. I am very good at helping people navigate big life transitions and coping with the grief they can bring. I have extensively studied the use of ritual/ceremony as a healing tool. It is my belief that honoring big life changes in ceremony is psychologically imperative. -WE CAN FIND YOUR TRUTH AND BEGIN TO LIVE IT. I like to work in a fairly short-term model and encourage my established clients to self-book on an as-needed basis. -THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an artsy type who values individual differences and the diversity of human experience as what make our world exciting and beautiful. I believe that sex, love, gender, race, spirituality, age, and cultural inheritance are always relevant and should move out of the shadow of unconscious patterns so that we can have access to our whole selves. I enact that belief by continually examining my own privilege and bias through justice-oriented education, training, therapy, and self-reflection. I value people, relationships, and beauty. Some of my favorite things in life are poetry and ice cream, I can't wait to find out what lights you up! I also value equity and I find ways to give back to the world while supporting myself in a capitalist society. I work with clients in a "short term" and "as needed" model to decrease the over all cost of therapy. I do not do business with any health insurance companies, but will provide super-bills for those who wish to seek reimbursement.
