About My Clients
I aim to service clients that are wanting to improve their social situation, management of stress/anxiety, have more fulfilling relationships/marriages, and more. I offer services to adults, 18-65.
My Background and Approach
Gary uses evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), two therapy modalities that encourage clients to understand the influence of their thoughts and feelings on their behaviors. Gary’s ultimate goal is to help clients free themselves from the unhelpful behaviors and cognitive distortions that are unhelpful to their achievement of their ultimate goals. As a Certified Yoga Instructor, he also incorporates elements of mindfulness and yoga into his sessions. Gary is dedicated to finding a treatment plan that works for each client. To this end, initial sessions with Gary include a diagnostic evaluation, an orientation to his therapeutic approaches, treatment planning, and then the start of therapeutic work by session three.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I entered into the field to hear stories of people who may not be able to share theirs. I want to hear your! I believe that YOU have a unique perspective, or worldview, about how things, place, and people interact. I want to hear how you make sense of the world. I will then aim to understand you and assist you in evaluating the best path forward to achieve your goals and desires. We can accomplish this by finding concrete skills to develop, reframing our thinking patterns, setting appropriate boundaries, engaging in conflict healthily, and so much more. I am confident we can find answers for your questions!
