About My Clients
Many of my clients come with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, intimacy concerns, or a sense of being stuck. Others bring dreams, symptoms, or repeating patterns they don’t yet understand. I work with people who want to speak freely, explore unconscious meanings, and find new ways of living and being in the world.
My Background and Approach
I am a Registered Psychological Associate (PSB 94029152) in California, practicing under the supervision of Dr. Fernando Castrillón, Licensed Psychologist (PSY24815). I hold a PhD and MA in Clinical Psychology, with advanced training in Lacanian psychoanalysis at the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis. I am also a licensed clinical psychologist in South Africa. My approach emphasizes the power of speech and listening to what is said, unsaid, and repeated. Psychoanalysis allows us to uncover unconscious desires and patterns shaping your life. Clients benefit by gaining new insights, loosening symptoms, and creating different possibilities for living.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each person’s experience is singular and deserves dignity and respect. My background in community psychology and environmental justice informs my understanding of how larger social, cultural, and ecological forces shape our lives. I have worked internationally with communities impacted by trauma, violence, and displacement, which has deepened my commitment to listening to marginalized voices. I value diversity in all its forms and welcome clients across cultures, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I also support movements for social and climate justice, seeing therapeutic work as part of building more livable worlds.
