About My Clients
Healing after a traumatic event can take time and a lot of work. I aim to build a safe, trusting relationship where you can take the journey through your painful experiences and arrive at a place that makes life feel worth living. Or, maybe you are not feeling like yourself—you’re staying up all night thinking, you’re finding it too difficult to get out of bed on a daily basis, you’re grieving a substantial loss, or you're having relationship difficulties. Calling a counselor is a HUGE step!
My Background and Approach
I use our first meeting to get to know you and the individual things you are looking to address. Together, we create a plan of action- how to heal from the situations you have experienced. I use a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach to counseling. For those who want to know about counseling theory, let me throw the acronyms out there: I use CBT and DBT, but also relational therapy. I am originally from Trinidad, in the Caribbean. I moved to the U.S. when I was 8 years old and identify as being bicultural. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, and spending time with family. I love experiencing new cultures, new food, new music, etc. I am excited to learn more about you to see if we can be a good fit! I am verified by Psychology Today and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
