About My Clients

Do you find that your relationships aren't as satisfying as you wish they were? Are you overwhelmed by the growing demands of your busy life? Are family relationships a strain for you? Any one of these stressors can lead someone to seek help, & you are not alone in this struggle. By having a space to talk about your experiences, worries, & relationship patterns you will find that some new insights may create immediate relief. Other deeper patterns may gradually unfold as you learn new habits.

My Background and Approach

As a psychodynamic psychologist, I approach each person as a unique individual and I view our work together as one that is exploratory, collaborative, and empowering. I am trained in providing trauma-informed, attachment-based, spiritually integrative, and relational psychodynamic therapy. I draw on these different perspectives to provide a supportive, paced, and in-depth approach to you as a whole person. I incorporate these perspectives as we look together at your past experiences, wishes, and motivations, stuck points, intergenerational patterns, relational styles, and significant negative events. At a certain point, people may come to find that they would like to go deeper, to develop insight into why their anxieties and patterns continue to arise. This is where my training and approach can support you in taking a look at the roots of your current concerns, in addition to addressing the immediate concerns.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a multicultural, feminist, liberal, spiritual, queer-affirming psychologist who is from the West Coast. I enjoy being outdoors, discovering new adventures, and learning new skills in growing plants, pottery, painting, and cooking. I believe that change is always possible, and your reactions are valid. I maintain that you didn’t develop your current challenges solely on your own, but that social circumstances and messages also contributed. There may be ways that you may have bought into stories/messages told about you. I believe that everyone does the best they can with the resources they have and has a basic desire to do well. We are multifaceted and complex people, and no single rule/solution can apply to everyone or every situation. Since suffering often occurs within the context of a relationship, the therapeutic relationship can provide a space for healing.
