About My Clients
Reaching out for help when you are in a low place can be difficult and finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. Feel free to reach out for a consultation where we can discuss your needs and figure out the best way to help you grow. I see couples, families, and individual adolescent and adult clients to help them move more smoothly through life transitions, navigate parenting, reduce conflict, increase intimacy, overcome infidelity, and cope with ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
My Approach is rooted in a client-centered orientation with a systemic lens that will allow me to explore the large and small systems that client functions within their daily life. Based on the unique needs of the client, my approach may draw from the tenants or techniques of any of the following modalities: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief, Structural/Strategic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Experiential, or Play Therapy. During couples counseling, both partners must be present at all sessions, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon. I see clients of all ages and backgrounds with the exception that I do not work individually with children under eight years of age.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all humans, at any age, are capable of change when given the right tools. I believe humans are inherently good, but sometimes we learn unhealthy behaviors or experience trauma in a way that can stunt our personal growth. I have been able to see this firsthand through my own therapy and my clients. There is always hope for every person and relationship when we are willing to be kind, vulnerable, and honest with ourselves and our loved ones. The journey there can feel uncomfortable and scary, but I believe having a supportive presence along the way can make it a little more bearable. I believe being able to hold space for what we might perceive as our most painful and shameful experiences is the most integral component when trying to create change, which is why I take a systemic, non-judgmental approach. I provide a safe space for all ages, religions, races, ethnicities, and gender expressions, and I am a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist.
