About My Clients
My clients struggle like you do. They live with anxiety- the heart racing, chest tightening, skin crawling, keeps you up all night kind. They often grew up in emotionally and physically unsafe environments. Being on guard, people pleasing, and quieting their voice was a means to survive with the least amount of damage. I sit with my clients while we honor the raw emotional suckage that accompanies trauma, and I empower them to build confidence, identify their needs, and find their voice.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. My experience includes working with adolescents and adults, providing individual and group therapy, to treat mental health, substance use, and co-occurring experiences. I hold unconditional positive regard for my clients, while also utilizing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions. I am a Brainspotting practitioner, trained in Phase 1, and empower my clients to build Mind-body connection through acknowledging and validating their cognitive, emotional, and physiological experiences. I believe the capacity to heal and to rise is rooted within clients, and that my role is to build client awareness of this existing strength. My treatment philosophy emphasizes empowerment and growth, instills hope, and encourages personal responsibility and self-advocacy.
