About My Clients
I work with adults, couples, and relationships navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, identity, boundaries, and relationship challenges. I especially welcome LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients, as well as people exploring polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, and diverse relationship structures. I also support clients working through people-pleasing, shame, body image concerns, disordered eating, and difficulty trusting themselves.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate at Ember & Bloom Therapy Co., Gaby Carvajal is passionate about helping clients develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves, their bodies, and their experiences. Her work focuses particularly on eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, food-related anxiety, shame, and the emotional patterns that can influence our relationship with food and our bodies. Gaby takes a person-centered, collaborative approach to therapy. She believes you are the expert on your own life and that meaningful change happens when you feel safe enough to explore your experiences without judgment. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, she works to understand the emotions, beliefs, relationships, and experiences underneath them. Gaby strives to create an affirming environment where clients can be honest about what they are experiencing without having to perform wellness or meet unrealistic expectations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Gaby believes that therapy should be a space where people feel seen, respected, and accepted as they are. She values compassion over judgment and believes that healing is rarely linear. She is passionate about helping people develop greater self-trust and a more compassionate relationship with themselves, especially when shame has shaped how they see their bodies, food, or worth. Gaby values authenticity, curiosity, connection, and creating space for people to explore their experiences without pressure to have all the answers. She believes every person brings their own history, strengths, culture, and perspective into therapy, and that effective therapy begins with listening and genuine connection. Outside of her clinical work, Gaby enjoys continuing to learn, exploring new perspectives, and spending time with the people and activities that bring her joy and connection. She brings that same curiosity and openness into her work with clients.
