About My Clients
Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you try, you are unable to see yourself as more than a body? That diet culture is so deeply engrained in our society that it feels impossible to escape? You are not alone. We live in a world that has convinced us that pursuing an unrealistic thin ideal is the key to happiness. That's why my goal is to help you reach a place of acceptance so that you can experience a more fulfilling life, free from diet culture and the toxicity that ensues.
My Background and Approach
I'm a millennial therapist with a humanistic and person-centered approach. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) dedicated to helping you get to the root of your struggles. I know what it's like feeling as though shrinking your body is the only answer to all of your "problems." That if you "work hard enough," that void you constantly feel, will eventually go away. Well, I am here to tell you that there IS another way. Healing is possible. Health comes in all shapes and sizes and is determined by a multitude of factors. I believe in establishing a balanced relationship with food and enjoying what you eat. Therefore, that's why I approach the therapy process through a Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating lens. I work mostly with adolescents and adults struggling with establishing a health relationship with food and their body, anxiety, self esteem, and tough life transitions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am extremely passionate about raising mental health awareness, de-stigmatizing mental health struggles, and helping individuals live unapologetically. I believe that in order to fully heal, we must get to the root cause. Therefore, exploring childhood trauma and interpersonal relationships is a big part of the work I do with my clients. If I had to ask my clients how they would best describe my personality and approach, I believe they would use words such as, "kind, empathic, and direct."
