About My Clients

I offer psychotherapy services to adults/young adults, adolescents, and couples. I work with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, interpersonal/relationship issues, I work from a place of unconditional positive regard and create a space built on safety, trust, and non-judgment. Every client enters with some sort of existing strength, and I find these to be invaluable in the therapeutic process. I believe in transparency and collaboration to help you reach your goals.

My Background and Approach

I believe that therapy should be a collaborative experience between the client and clinician; one that acknowledges the individual as a whole, unique being. I maintain that within each of us, there are strengths waiting to be tapped into and utilized to help one achieve their self-defined wellness goals. Given this, I follow an integrative approach drawing on cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness strategies. I use a person-centered approach and highly value unconditional positive regard. With couples work, I tend to use Dr. John Gottman's approach of being goal-oriented, focusing on developing healthy communication skills, and fostering a relationship built on trust, respect, and emotional connection. There is no universal approach that works for everyone, therefore wellness plans should be developed in a highly individualized way that is sensitive to one’s culture, life experiences, and existing resilience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal beliefs are grounded in racial justice, peace, cultural competence, empathy and equity. I have been actively involved in the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. I identify as an intersectional feminist and am passionate about women's rights. I am dedicated to protecting the future for all and combatting homophobia, racism/prejudice/discrimination, misogyny, ableism, ageism, xenophobia, and hate; both on an individual and community level. I believe in uplifting others, no matter our differences. I accept all clients, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, age, disability, religion, political beliefs, socioeconomic status, and personal values. Come as you are.
