Young children 0-10 who are displaying behavioral concerns such as separation anxiety, aggression, emotional outbursts, persistent worries, defiance, trouble with transitions, gender exploration, etc. Parents working to better support and understand their children's behaviors or development. Pregnant and postpartum parents experiencing anxiety, depression, or challenges coping with life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who offers psychotherapy with children and families, individuals in the perinatal period, as well as early childhood mental health consultation for preschool and childcare centers. I'm bilingual and available to support both English and Spanish speaking children & families. In my work with children, I focus primarily on children ages 2-10yrs old. To guide my clinical work I draws from an attachment-focused lens, mindfulness, play therapy, interpersonal neurobiology and family system theory. I have experience supporting children and families navigating a wide range of challenges including behavioral concerns, significant life changes, experiences of trauma, divorce, involvement in the child welfare system, concerns of anxiety and/or depression, support for children who are neurodiverse, and gender identity exploration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe strongly in the power of relationships and as such strive to build respectful, safe, attuned connections with each of my clients. Taking a collaborative approach to my therapeutic work, I truly value my clients’ perspectives, and view them as the experts while I walk beside them facilitating their journey. A parent myself, I have an intimate appreciation for the beautiful, messy, and often exasperating realties of caregiving. With this perspective in mind, I strive to create a therapeutic space where both children and adults feel heard and seen.
