About My Clients
While my specialization lies in working with youth 18 and younger, I also have extensive experience supporting adults and families through a variety of challenges. I provide therapeutic support for trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation, substance use, and complex family dynamics. Additional populations I work with include those navigating foster care, adoption, and the social justice system.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and acceptance. I prioritize creating a safe, nurturing space where children and adolescents can openly express themselves, process emotions, and develop healthier ways of coping. In my work I advocate to bring both mind and body into the healing process, encouraging activities that help clients connect with their physical and emotional experiences. I work closely with clients and, when appropriate/invited, families to improve communication, build resilience, and strengthen their relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, my beliefs are shaped by my experiences as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a Latinx individual, and as a former foster youth and foster parent. These roles inspire my commitment to fostering empathy, understanding, and authenticity in every client relationship. I believe in the resilience of individuals and the power of growth, healing, and change. My work emphasizes an interpersonal approach, cultivating genuine connections and honoring each client’s unique journey. By focusing on trauma, attachment, and personal growth, I help clients navigate challenges, heal, and rediscover their strengths. I value open communication, creating a warm, judgment-free space where clients feel safe to share. Using a strengths-based perspective, I empower clients to recognize their worth and build resilience. My diverse background shapes my dedication to providing inclusive, affirming care tailored to each client’s needs, inspired by their courage and transformation.
