About My Clients
Do you need a compassionate presence to help you work through religious trauma or a deconstruction experience without judgment or expectation? Are you looking for a therapist that affirms and celebrates LGBTQ+ people, and understands and values their experiences? Are you struggling with self-esteem & shame? Do you feel like you are accepted and celebrated for who you are? I will bring compassion, curiosity, and unconditional positive regard to every session.
My Background and Approach
My mission is to support clients in their quest for growth, self-discovery, and transformation, and to to help clients confront and embrace the inherent uncertainties of life, fostering resilience and a deeper sense of purpose. I recognize the profound courage it takes to confront one’s inner world, and I strive to create a safe, affirming, and open space for genuine exploration. If you’re seeking meaningful conversations about the essence and complexity of being human and what it is to be a conscious animal on a giant rock flying through space, I am the therapist for you. My work as a therapist is a blending of psychology and philosophy, and commonly covers religious trauma and deconstruction, LGBTQ+ clients, self-esteem & shame, relationship issues & couples therapy, life transitions, ENM clients, and many more areas. I welcome the opportunity to work with anyone who is curious about their experience and interested in change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in love. I was planning on going to seminary, but I came out as queer instead. I left my evangelical faith but my love for people and my love for the world around me only expanded. It was difficult growing up in a conservative home and conservative religious community in the South that rejected core parts of who I am. That history, my history has sparked so much love and empathy for others who have had to endure similar experiences. I understand.
