About My Clients
I have significant experience working with adolescents, adults, artists and arts-workers, LGBTQIA individuals, athletes, and teens with mild to moderate disabilities. I'm interested in working with you if you experience disconnection, depression, anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, unmanageable stress, or dissonance between the life you want to live and the life you experience each day.
My Background and Approach
Over my decades working in the arts, I have learned a great deal about the balance between individual resilience and structural oppression, and I believe that change is a client-driven process that starts with simply making a non-judgmental space for your voice to be heard. My approach is psychodynamic (probably the first thing that you picture when you imagine talk therapy), but I incorporate aspects of IFS, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and anything else I think will help my clients build positive change in their lives clients lives. Different people resonate with different framings and approaches, and I want to have as many tools in my toolbox as I can.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves to feel valuable and important in their own lives and to love themselves and be proud of who they are. Sadly, many of us don't experience this. Working in this field has shown me how much potential for joy and meaning each individual contains and I believe that everyone has a right to that experience and it is my mission in this work to help people access their potential to live meaningfully, joyfully and playfully every day. Due to my background in music and the arts in general I have a special interest in and connection with folks who are artists or creative workers, and I offer additional and more extreme sliding scale rates for folks in those fields.
