About My Clients
I believe that therapy can guide you in finding peace and joy in your family and personal life. My practice specializes in serving parents, as well as queer and neurodivergent clients. Whatever is keeping you from being the type of people, parents, couples, and families you want to be, together we can work through it!
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I strike a balance between leaving ample space for the client to express themselves and taking an active role in guiding and supporting them. I bring expertise in attachment theory, LGBTQIA+ topics, acculturation issues and parenting to my work. My empathy and understanding is enhanced by a wide variety of life experiences and over a decade of working with families in a variety of roles. My main therapeutic influences are humanistic, psychodynamic and I practice EFT with couples.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer person with an immigrant background who is married to a black woman, serving the needs of clients who are members of marginalized communities is particularly important to me. I hope to make my office a particularly welcoming and supportive space for LGBTQIA+ folks, BIPOC clients and neurodivergent individuals. To address socioeconomic inequalities in our community that affect access to treatment I offer generous sliding scale fees to members of those groups.
