I have at least two years of experience working with clients who are recovering from traumatic events and memories. When working with trauma, I work from a Dialectical Behavioral lens which teaches us skills in self regulation, mindfulness, and emotional awareness.
I have at least two years of experience working with clients who are in recovery from substance use. When working with substance abuse, I promote self-compassion, motivational interviewing, and resilience building for those who also struggle with minority stress and would cope with substances.
I have at least two years of experience working with clients who are navigating systemic oppression, as well as teaching, research, service, and supervision experience regarding counseling minoritized communities as they navigate systemic oppression. Furthermore, I have an ongoing dedication to social justice and consistently educate other counselors on areas of social justice in the counseling field. I am also knowledgeable in minority stress and intersectional experiences.
As part of my counseling experience, I have a specialization certificate in Diversity and Cultural Counseling. Furthermore, I specialize in Minority Stress Counseling and Intersectionality Counseling, which I utilize to support minoritized clients who navigate structural violence.
I have at least two years of experience in working with clients who struggle with substance use. Furthermore, I have received training in motivational interviewing and I am pursuing research on how to utilize motivational interviewing with minoritized communities.
I have at least two years of experience in working with clients who navigate traumatic experiences and memories. I specialize in educating clients on coping skills and self-regulation when navigating thoughts and feelings related to trauma. Furthermore, I provide affirming time and space for client to process their traumatic experiences and remind them of their strengths and resilience when navigating trauma.
I have at least two years of experience working with various presentations of stress in community counseling.
I have at least two years of experience in working with clients who struggle with depression. Specifically, I work with clients who struggle with existential reasons for depression, cultural oppression related stressors, and depression related to trauma. I utilize a holistic counseling approach for working with depression related stressors such as CBT/DBT, Person Centered Counseling, and Narrative Humility.
I have at least two years of experience in working with clients who struggle with anxiety. Specifically, I am experienced in working with clients who struggle with anxiety triggers related to PTSD and cultural oppression. I utilize a holistic counseling approach for working with anxiety related stressors such as DBT, Person Centered Counseling, and Narrative Humility.
