About My Clients
Maybe you find yourself in a really difficult transition or phase of life, particularly in the area of grief and loss. You may also be experiencing anxiety or depression and finding it difficult to meet the requirements of day to day life. This could look like having difficulty getting out of bed or brushing your teeth. You may be finding it difficult to get back into the swing of things since the pandemic began, especially in social settings.
My Background and Approach
My educational background includes a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Norfolk State University. I also hold a master's degree in community counseling from Regent University. I've been privileged to serve in the mental health and counseling field for nearly 12 years and have been licensed as a professional counselor since 2018. I am also a certified Grief Counseling Specialist, inspired to obtain more knowledge about how to support those I serve due to my own experiences with significant losses in my own life, particularly the totally unexpected passing one of my brothers. I offer an eclectic approach to therapy, but tend to share strategies from the cognitive behavioral, person centered and strength based approaches to therapy. I also offer therapy within the context of the Christian faith.
