About My Clients

I gravitate towards people trying to understand the patterns showing up in their relationships, families, and sense of self. You may be navigating conflict, disconnection, anxiety, identity, religious trauma, or a season of change that has left you unsure of what comes next. I am especially drawn to blended, foster, and adoptive families, stepparents, and people working toward repair, reconnection, and a stronger sense of who they are.

My Background and Approach

Before becoming a counselor, I spent several years working closely with foster, adoptive, and reunifying families. That experience shaped the way I understand relationships, attachment, family systems, and the ways our histories can follow us into the present. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and am completing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University. My approach is relational, trauma informed, and individualized. I draw primarily from Narrative Therapy, attachment, and family systems perspectives, while incorporating other tools based on what fits you. I am curious about the stories you carry, the roles you have learned to take on, and the patterns that may have once helped you survive but no longer fit who you are becoming. Together, we can make sense of where those patterns came from, decide what you want to keep, and create room for something different.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I care deeply about honesty, curiosity, accountability, and the freedom to question the things we have been taught about who we are supposed to be. I believe people can grow, relationships can change, and repair is possible. It takes honesty, responsibility, and a willingness to do something differently. I value family, while also believing family can be complicated. Sometimes love means reconnecting and rebuilding. Sometimes it means setting boundaries or accepting that a relationship may not become what we hoped it would be. I believe people deserve to define faith, family, identity, and a meaningful life for themselves. I have a lot of respect for people willing to look closely at their own story, question old patterns, and choose what they want to carry forward.
