Your life is all around difficult. But few things are as challenging or painful as your drinking and drug use. It’s been a source of shame for some time now, but it’s remained something that’s felt easiest to avoid or hide from others. But people party, right? My treatment involves understanding and healing what it is that causes my clients to drink and use substances. Chances are you're self-medicating, trying to feel calmer or happier. Depression is a type of pain unlike any other. Unlike other illnesses, depression tells you that it's your fault, that you're a bad person, and if only you could be a better human being, you would feel happy. The good news about depression, however, is that it's very treatable. To do so, I utilize treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Psychodynamic Therapy. That way, we can heal the manner in which thoughts, emotions, and behaviors contribute to depression.

I imagine you're feeling stressed, nervous, and unhappy. The thing about anxiety is that it impacts every part of our lives. Relationships, work, all of them feel stressful and it's simply easier to avoid. Maybe you can't sit down, you feel like you can't stop working, or you feel stressed in social situations. Anxiety lies at the heart of these experiences. Luckily, treating anxiety is what therapy is best at, and it through the right support, you can be free of anxiety.

Our childhood's can be complicated times. We encounter great joys, relationships, and experiences. However, we also experience anxiety within our home, fear of a parent, feeling unloved, abuse, or other family challenges. Unfortunately, these negative experiences tend to carry into our adulthood and inform much of our relationships and life directions. That doesn't have to be the case. Psychodynamic therapy heals the wounds of childhood so that you can be happy and healthy as an adult.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is the new gold-standard for the treatment of anxiety and trauma. It essentially hacks the brain, making pain and trauma be able to be processed and let go within incredible efficiency and little pain. If you are experiencing anxiety or trauma, EMDR will change your life. Finding a therapist that offers EMDR can be limited, so as an EMDR practitioner, my job is to help you heal in a way that standard therapy often cannot.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treats emotional distress by examining and then discarding problematic views on ourselves, relationships, and the world around us. Maybe we think that we're bad at our job, imposters, or simply a drag on the people around us. CBT allows us to treat the relationship between thoughts and emotions in a way that you are no longer badgered by self-critical thinking and anxiety.
