About My Clients
I'm most experienced working with young men who feel that life is too difficult to go it alone, but don't know who to ask for help. I work with many young people who want their therapist to relate to them, and to understand what it's like to be growing up in a confusing, always-online world. I'm the most experienced in helping people work through issues like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and relationship dysfunction; as well as more specific, introspective issues, such as self-esteem.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is rooted in psychodynamic theory, which means we'll explore deeper patterns and experiences that have shaped how you think, feel, and act. If you want to better understand why you think or feel a certain way, and how that drives your behavior, this approach might be right up your alley. I'm also trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, and more; I tend to tailor my approach to the individual, their presenting problems, and most importantly, how they themselves want to conduct their therapy appointments.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to create a space where you gain clarity, build confidence, and grow in a way that feels meaningful. It is important to me that our counseling sessions are strictly nonjudgmental and inclusive spaces for people of all walks of life. I'm particularly passionate about helping young men challenge and overcome rigid social norms that can make vulnerability and self-acceptance difficult; therapy is hard work, so comfort and safety are paramount to me.
