My Background and Approach
Let’s get you to where you want to be. I believe my clients are the experts in their own lives and I bring to the work: lived experience, training, and a sincere commitment to you living your best life. I follow your lead while also speaking up when something sounds like it might be harmful internalized messaging. I am invested in working with people of a wide range of relationship models and social identities including polyamorous/non-monogamous, trans and nonbinary, Black, Indigenous, and people of color, fat, disabled, neurodivergent, and sex workers. I come to therapy as a second career from the art and education worlds. At my core, I am goofy, quirky, nerdy, and caring. I believe there is space for playfulness, joy, and humor in therapy and also space for all the sadness and rage. My personal value system includes dismantling white supremacy through action, fat liberation, radical disability justice, trans joy, and gleefully destroying the heteropatriarchy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a 36-year-old, white, queer, genderqueer/nonbinary, fat, Jewishish, Quakerish, disabled, neurodivergent, non-veteran, U.S. citizen, and English-speaking mega-nerd. My SES and disability are extra complex. In addition to being a therapist, I am an artist, fat activist, and plant parent. Black Lives Matter. Black Trans Lives Matter. Disability justice is a priority. Sex workers deserve the rights of all workers. Liberation of those most marginalized helps everyone. It is past time to end prisons, police, and limit terms of politicians and judges.
