About My Clients

I specialize in working with queer, trans, and non-binary folks of all intersecting identities (including 2S and Indigiqueer, other BIPOC folks, disabled folks, immigrants, etc.). My focus is addressing trauma (both specific experiences and ongoing traumas, like racism and cissexism), anxiety and stress, chronic pain and illness, attention and executive functioning, identity exploration, and impacts of experiencing privilege and oppression.

My Background and Approach

I take a collaborative approach in integrating several styles of therapy to ensure that our work is most helpful to you. I enjoy working with folks who are new to therapy, as well as folks who have found that "just talking" in therapy in the past hasn't felt helpful. My approach is informed by neuroscientific, feminist, multicultural, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and somatic (body-based) practices of therapy. I offer "as-needed" therapy as well as ongoing therapy, and I provide letters for gender affirming medical care using an informed consent perspective. I also offer Peace Corps Mental Health Evaluations. A session with me might include: somatic (body-based) practices that can help you feel less overwhelmed and connect more easily to good feelings; mindful exploration of your experience that allows you to engage in your life with more ease and flexibility; identifying helpful and unhelpful patterns in your life as well as strategies for change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that therapy is a tool for individual and collective liberation from oppression, and that the survival strategies and sources of resilience that have allowed you to reach this point in your life are incredible innate strengths. I am a white, queer, trans and non-binary therapist with a commitment to practicing therapy with a social justice lens. Our identities and histories in the context of social oppression and privilege are integral aspects of our wellness and healing process. I believe that many of the experiences that we consider mental health symptoms are understandable responses to injustice, oppression, and environments that do not serve us, and that healing often involves connection, community, and change outside of one on one therapy. I am in an ongoing practice of decolonizing my approach to therapy and welcome clients to bring traditional, ancestral, and spiritual healing practices authentic to them into our therapy work.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
