About My Clients
I have experience working with queer, trans, kinky and polyamorous individuals, and BIPOC through an intersectional liberation framework. I provide an open space for clients to explore their identities and their relationship to oppressive systems. I love facilitating identity exploration that emphasizes agency, with no pressure or expectations. I work to improve the self esteem and self worth of my clients while empowering them to build healthy relationships in their own lives.
My Background and Approach
Core to my practice is the therapeutic relationship. I believe in a person centered and strength based model that centers your needs. As a therapist I take an integrated approach catered to each individual client to find what fits best. I like to empower clients by helping them develop tools to handle the stress, anxiety, depression and other struggles that they may face on what seems like individual level. Using systems perspective I acknowledge how factors such as trauma, interpersonal relationships, community, institutions and society may all contribute to these issues experienced within you. I also put emphasis on navigating these relationships such as family, romantic (polyamorous and monogamous) and platonic relationships through developing healthy communication and boundary skills as part of building a healthy support network and community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I ground myself -personally and professionally- in values of active anti-racism and intersectional queer liberation in support of marginalized folks and communities. . My approach is centered in joy, liberation, anti carceral relationship building, and dismantling oppressive institutional systems. Human connections come in many forms and I work with polyamorous and monogamous relationships. I support anti-racist initiatives, Land Back, and anti capitalism movements. I am continuously in the process of learning and growing as try to decolonize myself and my practice.
