About My Clients
I help individuals who feel stuck, whether from emotional distress, overwhelming anxiety and persistent worry, or relational patterns that impede meaningful connections. I also work with couples who want to repair prior injury to their relationship, navigate conflict and address issues of disconnection.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in psychodynamic principles which means that therapeutic work begins with examining what is actually driving one's difficulties, where it came from, and what has kept it in place. Unlike structured, technique-driven modalities, our primary focus will not be on doing homework assignments or pursuing skills-based training, although such elements can become woven into our work naturally as the process unfolds. My approach works well for those who are curious about themselves and their experiences, and are willing to engage in open, exploratory conversation to carefully examine their problems as they pursue more satisfying ways of responding to them. If you have questions or are ready to make changes, I invite you to reach out.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I approach life with an open mind and am drawn to various philosophical teachings, particularly Zen Buddhism and Taoism. Outside of my profession, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If you have questions or are ready to make changes, I invite you to reach out.
