I acknowledge that you are the expert on your experiences and look forward to joining you on your quest for greater understanding. We will accomplish this through awareness of your individual and collective strengths and we will expand your capacity to understand and navigate the world through a new lens. At Heartwork Counseling Center, we do not take insurance. We do offer a sliding scale. Our regular fee is $150.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach prioritizes acceptance, non-judgment, and growth by drawing from attachment-based theory (psychodynamic therapy) and other evidenced-based practices with holistic/alternative frameworks. My therapy is informed by intersectional and decolonized theories and politics such as: Black Feminism Theory, Queer Sexualities, Fat Liberation, Ethical Non-Monogamy and non-hierarchical forms of relationships, Disability Justice, Sex Positivity, and Liberation Health Model. My approach is not limited to these core components, they do drive how I approach the therapeutic alliance in our sessions.
