About My Clients
I work best with women and femme-identifying folks who are working through the following issues: trauma (childhood, racial, intergenerational, religious), depression, anxiety, identity development/self-esteem, LGBTQ+ issues, relationship/communication/interpersonal issues, and body image. However, feminist therapy is for everyone and I welcome folks of all genders given their concerns match my areas of expertise.
My Background and Approach
I am a clinical psychologist with generalist training, meaning I work across the lifespan and have knowledge/expertise in a wide range of psychological concerns. I am trained in ADHD, personality, psychoeducational, and career assessment. I offer primarily individual therapy with some availability for child, family, and group therapy. I offer primarily multicultural feminist therapy which I use in combination with DBT/CBT/interpersonal/ACT strategies depending on client needs. I also offer EMDR therapy to a lesser extent as an additive modality to talk therapy. My therapy style is honest and transparent, although always kind and trauma-informed. I hold particular expertise in working with people of color from an intergenerational, historically-informed lens. My work is supervised for the next calendar year as I work towards independent licensure.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my office, women are the life-force of society, Black lives matter, no human is illegal, America is stolen land, and my clients come before capitalist values. I believe the cultures we come from are both strength and weakness at times, which means we must flexibly approach our identities in order to become our most well selves. As a feminist therapist, I aim to stand alongside my clients as they explore themselves in therapy but am just as happy to stand in front as an advocate when needed. I am an imperfect ally and welcome challenges to do better.
